William D. Harris has an extensive background in local, regional, national, and international politics, with a unique and valuable perspective of the Washington environment.
Bill has served in leadership roles in the previous three Republican National Conventions, most recently as a senior advisor to 2016 RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and the Donald J. Trump presidential campaign. He was the Chief Executive Officer in for the 2004 New York City convention for President Bush. In this capacity he planned, organized, and conducted one of the most successful conventions in the history of the Republican Party. In 2008, he served as the Convention Director for the McCain-Palin Campaign where he coordinated all convention-related activities for the campaign, including program, political, logistics, and communications.
A stalwart of Republican politics for over three decades, Bill is a conservative activist and he helped turn the Southern United States into a growth area for Republicans in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Bill has served in every Republican presidential campaign since 1972 and, as Executive Director of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, he was instrumental in winning the Republican majority in the United States Senate in 1994.
Bill is also active in international conservative political circles. He has been the Republican Party’s representative to the International Democrat Union, the global group of center-right political parties. He has in-depth political experience in Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe.
